As reported by one of the readers of cashless.pl, Santander Bank Polska has been added to the list of institutions integrated with the SEPA Instant system. What this means for its customers is explained by the institution's press office. "Santander Bank Polska is the first bank to pilot the new KIR Euro Express Elixir service at its bank. We have now launched the solution for incoming transfers, and we are working on making outgoing transfers available to our bank's customers, first and foremost to corporate ones," I read in response to my question on that matter.

Euro Express Elixir is to be a system for instant transfers in euros. KIR has been working on it for considerable time, as you may have read about many times on cashless.pl. Most recently in April last year, when the company registered a new name with the Patent Office.
Meanwhile, Express Elixir, the system for instant interbank transfers in PLN, is still not a standard solution in Poland. Most banks do not charge individual customers for standard transfers, but for express transfers they charge extra, sometimes a lot.

The exception to this is Santander, which offers such transfers free of charge to holders of its flagship account. Perhaps this will soon be the case at other banks as well. The rules of the game may also change in this case by Revolut, which quite recently announced that all its customers can use instant transfers free of charge.
