According to officers' findings, the driver spotted and memorized his customer's phone and mobile banking PIN codes when he used his banking app to pay with a Blik code for a ride. Unluckily for the victim, he accidentally left his phone in the taxi, and the driver decided to seize the opportunity.

Knowing the code to unlock the smartphone and the PIN to the app, the suspect generated Blik codes with which he withdrew money from ATMs. In addition, he ordered himself several pairs of shoes from an online shop, for almost PLN 5,000. After reaching the limit of possible transactions, the man threw away the victim's smartphone. In total, the losses of the forgetful passenger were estimated at nearly PLN 25,000.
