Customers have also been able to withdraw cash using other digital wallets, such as Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay
One of Cashless’s readers has told us that just before the weekend he was able to withdraw cash from an ATM using Google Pay with an Orange Finanse card connected to it. It seemed unlikely, since the payment companies’ announcements suggested that this functionality wasn't yet available in Poland or in other countries where customers can use Google Pay. But this is no longer true.

Mastercard's Polish press office informed me that customers who use the company's cards connected to digital wallets have been able to use ATMs for the last few days. This includes users of Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay, both available in Poland. The functionality is also available to Visa card holders. I have just managed to withdraw cash from a Euronet ATM with a Visa card issued by PKO BP and connected to a Garmin Pay wallet.

Digital wallets are a solution that is mainly used for cashless payments. However, there are many situations where you might need cash in your hand. The inability to withdraw it using Apple Pay or Google Pay was for many users the reason why they couldn't get rid of plastic cards altogether. One solution was to use Blik at ATMs. Now it's not necessary, especially since it seems to me like my Garmin Pay withdrawal was quicker than a Blik one.
